PCTFE, Polychlorotrifluoroethylene is a melt-processable chlorofluoropolymer.PCTFE rod,also known as kel-f rod. PCTFE  is a kind of perfect sealing material under cryogenic and high pressure conditions.PCTFE rod is recommended for cryogenic application and handling of gases. It has better mechanical properties than other fluoropolymers and low permeability,excellent rigidity, low temperature resistance, cryogenic fluid resistance and good size stability.

The presence of a chlorine atom, which has a greater atomic radius than that of fluorine, gives rise to irregularities in the polymer chain and reduces polymer crystallinity. This results in PCTFE having a relatively low melting point among fluoropolymers. It is also the polymer with the lowest water vapor and moisture absorption rate. It resists ignition because its Limiting Oxygen Index (LOI), which is greater than 95.
